My Travels
I have had the chance to travel just a bit. Mostly by car. Funny thing is, I have never had the chance to travel to the places I really would love to go. I am a water baby and love the warm weather and beach. That is one of the reasons I moved back to Texas from Illinois. I hate the short summers and cold weather. So I will take you through my travels.
I know when I was like 5 years old or younger. I visited my mom in California. I lived with my grandma then. The only thing I remember from the trip is some cave we stopped to tour on our drive there from Texas. I also remember the BIG waves from the beach.
When I was 15 I moved from Texas to Louisiana with my kids dad. It’s funny, but I grew up 20/30 min away from the TX/LA state border and I had never really crossed it. We lived there for about 6 months then we moved back to Texas.
When I was 21 we moved to Illinois and stayed with my mom for a short time. We were close to the Missouri border. After the short stay with my mom we moved to Hannibal, Missouri. To get to Illinois we traveled through Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas.
After living in Missouri for about a year, I eventually moved back to Illinois and lived there for 8 years. While living in Illinois, I traveled to Iowa several times for work and to enjoy the casinos.
I moved back to Texas a month and a half before Hurricane Rita. After evacuation of the hurricane, our city was not open for 4 weeks. My job sent me to Oklahoma for that time period. I was in charge of implementation of setting up a temporary call center for my employer.
Since moving back to Texas, I traveled to one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. Colorado Springs, Colorado. I had the chance to go for work and took the time to venture to the top of Pikes Peak. Just breath taking. I also took my hubby to Vegas last year for his 40th birthday. It was not my choice of location since it was his birthday, we had to go somewhere he would enjoy. He hates the beach.
So my list of states I have visited or lived in are:
- Louisiana
- Mississippi
- California
- Nevada
- Colorado
- Oklahoma
- Tennessee
- Arkansas
- Missouri
- Illinois
- Iowa
What places have you lived in or visited? What places would you like to go?
